WALLA WALLA, Wash. — Zoe Lee scored two goals for North Idaho College in a 4-0 win over the Walla Walla Warriors in a Northwest Athletic Conference East Region match on Wednesday.
NIC (4-3-2, 4-1 NWAC) also picked up goals from Sydney Moore and Ellory Ferris in the second half. Kaysha Bailey stopped five shots for a shutout in goal for NIC, which hosts Columbia Basin on Saturday at Eisenwinter Field starting at noon.
“The girls really started moving the ball around the field well in the second half,” NIC coach Dan Hogan said. “That was the key to creating more scoring chances and corner kicks. I’m impressed with how much the players have learned so far and we hope to continue to get better.”
Due to a flat tire, NIC arrived 30 minutes later than anticipated for the match.
“We started sluggish as the tire had to be replaced before we got started on our trip this morning,” Hogan said. “We only got an abbreviated warm up before the game.”
Lakeland High product Danielle Dowd had three saves for Walla Walla (6-3, 3-2).
