TURNOUT: First, be informed

The Coeur d’Alene Press editorial of Sept. 12 laments past voter turnout and urges folks to go to the polls in the upcoming election. While I agree that more of our electorate should get involved, I question the wisdom of just getting out to vote if the voters have not taken the time to study the issues and candidates.

If a person is too uninformed or lazy to vote, he/she should stay home and let the election results be determined by the voters prepared and motivated.
