Avista merger has new timeline
COEUR d’ALENE — The Idaho Public Utilities Commission set a new schedule Tuesday for the proposed $5.3 billion sale of Avista to Hydro One.
According to the new schedule, the applicants have until Monday to submit supplemental testimony. A settlement conference will take place on Oct. 16, followed by staff and intervenor testimony Nov. 1, company rebuttal testimony Nov. 14, and a technical hearing to begin Nov. 26.
A July 23 technical hearing was canceled after Hydro One’s CEO and board of directors resigned. The interested parties met again Sept. 10 and agreed to a revised schedule that was submitted for commission approval, said a PUC press release.
