Gail A. Jones, 74
Gail A. Jones, 74, went home to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Sept. 12, 2018. She was born to parents Glenn and Kathryn Heston on March 26, 1944, in Lewiston, Idaho. She was raised in Nez Perce, Idaho, with her brother, Gary Heston on their parents’ farm. She remained in Nez Perce until she completed high school in 1962. She then went on to train as a CNA in Cottonwood, Idaho.
It was in 1960 on a farm in the area where she met the love of her life, Lawrence Jones, who took her on their first date to a movie, “Lady and the Tramp.” From that day forward their love continued to grow for each other and they were married in 1962 in Lewiston. They have two children — a son, Aaron Jones and daughter, Jo Anne Jones (Seher). In the early ’70s they moved back to Nez Perce to help with her family’s farm; during this time she also worked as a wing wrapper on Stearman aircraft.
The importance of family unity laid heavy on her heart. It became a strong value in how she led and raised her family and passing it down to her children and grandchildren. She accomplished this by sharing her enthusiasm she had for the Lord through music, singing, playing games or cards and fellowship with others. She was an excellent piano player and enjoyed playing with others, including her granddaughters while they were growing up. She also shared her musical talent with several churches in the area, including Grace Bible and Post Falls Baptist. She attended North Country Chapel for 20 years and enjoyed a women’s Bible study group called Joyful Life. It is there where she found some of her lifelong friends whom she cherished greatly.
She is survived by and awaiting the arrival of her family: husband, Larry Jones; son, Aaron (Christine) Jones; daughter, Jo Anne Seher; brother, Gary Heston; grandchildren, Jessica (Jake) Mikek, Annette Seher and Ryan Seher; great-grandchildren, Emma, Lyla, Naomi and Isabelle Mikek and Malachi, Adam and Alayla Stiles; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A few favorite verses:
Ephesians 1:7 “In Him we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of His grace.”
2 Timothy 4:7 “I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith.”
Family motto: “It is well with my soul.”
There will be a celebration of life held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 22, 2018, at North Country Chapel, 2281 W. Seltice Way in Post Falls, Idaho. To see Gail’s online obituary and to sign the online guest book for the family, please visit www.englishfuneralchapel.com.
