Press hosting candidate forum Oct. 23

Voters, meet your candidates for the Idaho Legislature.

The Press is sponsoring a candidate forum from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 23 in the Coeur d’Alene Library Community Room. Doors will open at 5:30 p.m.

The event will be taped and then broadcast on CdA-TV daily between Oct. 24 and Nov. 6, according to Jeff Crowe of CdA-TV.

All the candidates in contested races from legislative Districts 2, 3 and 4 are being invited to participate in discussion of important issues facing the state in general and North Idaho in particular.

The public is welcome to attend.

The forum will be divided into three segments, one for each legislative district being represented. There will be a short break between the sessions.

Press Editor Mike Patrick will moderate the event. Reporters Brian Walker and Judd Wilson will be asking the candidates questions.

“We strongly encourage all the candidates to participate so voters will have a better idea who stands for what,” Patrick said.

He added that The Press will distribute a voters guide to newspaper subscribers Oct. 20.
