Dorothy Ellen Reed, 84

Dorothy Ellen Reed, 84, of Coeur d’Alene, Idaho, passed away with family by her side at Kootenai Health, Monday, Sept. 3, 2018. Born Dec. 18, 1933, in Coeur d’Alene, to the late Ralph and Inez Thompson, she was the eldest of two siblings.

Dorothy graduated from Coeur d’Alene High School in 1952. She went on to marry her late husband, Fred Reed, on Nov. 1, 1952, after he returned from the Korean War. Fred and Dorothy enjoyed 62 years of marriage before Fred passed away in April of 2015. Together they raised their four sons: Frank, Jeff, Tim and Mark. She will lovingly be remembered by her family and friends as a kind, caring woman with a heart of gold.

Dorothy is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Frank and Marta Reed of Omak, Wash.; son and daughter-in-law, Jeff and Tracy Reed of Spokane, Wash.; 12 grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her husband Fred; son, Tim; son, Mark and sister, Delores Pasold (Thompson).

A memorial gathering will be held from 1 to 4 p.m. on Sept. 29, 2018, at Post Falls Senior Center, 1215 E. Third Ave., Post Falls, Idaho. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Dorothy’s life.
