POST FALLS — It took until the fifth set, but once the Post Falls Trojans got warmed up, they put it together on the court.
Tessa Sarff had 17 kills and four blocks and Ali Carpenter 30 digs for Post Falls in a 25-19, 20-25, 25-22, 23-25, 15-6 win over the Lewiston Bengals in 5A Inland Empire League play at The Arena on Thursday.
“In that fifth set, we controlled the ball and were moving it around really well,” Post Falls coach Matt Barkley said. “Ali was digging the ball up all over the place, and we just started to click and kind of just got warmed up. Lewiston played us really tough and made us earn everything. We had to earn it tonight, but it was good to face some adversity, show some grit and put them away.”
Kayla Mayo had 26 assists, Megan Wood three blocks, Maya Blake four aces and Courtney Finney four aces for Post Falls (6-3, 2-1 5A IEL), which travels to Sandpoint on Tuesday. Lewiston is 0-2 in league and hosts Coeur d’Alene on Tuesday.

RATHDRUM — Katy Ryan had eight kills and three blocks for the Hawks, but the visiting Bulldogs rolled to the 25-20, 25-12, 25-19 victory in 4A Inland Empire League play at Hawk Court.
Abbey Neff had 16 assists for Lakeland (12-5, 1-1 4A IEL). Daphne Carroll added seven kills and two aces, Olivia Cooper 16 digs, Summer Powell 14 digs, Jenny Wirtz three blocks.
Lakeland plays host to Lake City on Tuesday.
Sandpoint is 8-5, 1-0.

COEUR d’ALENE — The host Panthers played the Wildcats tough in the first two sets before falling 26-24, 25-27, 25-12, 25-11 in Intermountain League play at Holy Family Catholic School.
“Everybody fought the whole way,” Charter coach Cindy Beyer said. “They’ve got some big girls, and we just couldn’t finish strong. They kept banging away at the ball, and we just couldn’t answer.”
Megan MacKinney had 10 kills and six digs for Coeur d’Alene Charter (5-3, 0-2 IML). Madi Kociela had seven kills and three blocks, Hannah Burt 11 digs, Mackenzie Simkins 20 assists, Chloe Turnbull two aces.
Coeur d’Alene Charter travels to Bonners Ferry on Tuesday.

PLUMMER — Kria Peters had 12 assists for the Knights in a 25-15, 25-18, 25-12 loss to the Wampus Cats in North Star League play at Ron Miller Court.
“Clark Fork has some size and hit the ball really well,” Lakeside coach Brad Veile said. “They do a lot of movement and put you off balance.”
Tara Allen had three aces and two aces, Glory Olson three kills and two aces for Lakeside (1-3, 0-2 NSL), which faces Clark Fork (6-4, 2-0) again on Saturday at Clark Fork.
Ellie Kiebert had 13 kills for Clark Fork.

HARRISON FLATS — Amanda Wine had 19 service points, six kills and one block as the host Warriors rallied to win the final three sets and beat the Tigers 18-25, 23-25, 25-22, 25-19, 15-8 in North Star League play.
Hannah Andersen had 12 service points, four kills and two blocks for Kootenai (2-4, 1-1 NSL). Jacey Grange had nine service points and four blocks, Tayva Maitland 12 service points and four blocks, Abby Tiller nine service points and four blocks.
“We pulled together as a team and really began to come into our own tonight.” Kootenai coach Danyel Ward said. “I’ve been waiting for the moment things finally clicked, and I think that happened tonight. We still have things to work on, but on the whole I’m very proud of all of my girls and can’t wait to see what the rest of the season has in store for us.”
Kootenai plays host to Genesis Prep on Tuesday.
