Photo by AMY CHAMBERS The Coeur d’Alene Crush 04 went 6-0 to win the 14U division at the Spokane (SGFSA) Fall Classic at the Dwight Merkel Sports Complex in Spokane. The Crush totalled 64 hits during the weekend, led by Matea Dorame with a team-high 10. The Crush won the championship game against Spokane Valley Impact 10-5 on Sunday. In pool play, the Crush beat the Spokane Diamonds 14-1 on Friday. Brynn Tolzmann had a triple and and Alyssa Krause hit an RBI triple. Kaylyn Rice hit an RBI double. Kailey Cramer had 2 RBIs. The Crush beat the North Idaho Blast 8-4, as Alyssa Krause, Sophie Nungesser and Kaylyn Rice all hit 2-run singles, and Madi Cleave had 3 RBIs. The Crush beat the Spokane Stealth 7-3, as Kristine Schmidt hit a double along and Alyssa Krause hit an RBI double. In bracket games Sunday, the Crush beat the North Idaho Thunder 8-7, as Kristine Schmidt hit a triple and Brynn Tolzmann had an RBI double. The Crush beat the Avalanche from Montana 13-10. Brynn Tolzmann, Kristine Schmidt and Matea Dorame all hit RBI doubles, Brynn hitting two doubles. Kaylyn Rice hit a double. In the championship game, the Crush beat the Impact from Spokane Valley 10-5. Madi Cleave hit a 3-run double. Kristine Schmidt and Kailey Cramer both hit RBI doubles. Matea Dorame hit a double, and Sophie Nungesser had 2 RBIs. Cameron Fischer had 1 goal. Isabella Grimmett had 1 goal. Izabella Entzi had 1 assist. On Saturday the Thorns beat Surf SC 08 Black North 3-2. Carmeron Fischer, Isabella Grimmett and Anna Ploof each had 1 goal. Early Sunday the Thorns beat Spokane Sounders SDP Valley Girls Ellis 6-1. Izabella Entzi and Cameron Fischer each had 2 goals. Sloan Waddell and Anna Ploof each had 1 goal. Macy Walters and Izabella Entzi each had an assist. Later Sunday, in the championship game, the Thorns lost 2-1 to SSC Shadow G08 United Shultz. Timbers North FC 07 Boys Red: The Timbers were on the road this past weekend. The first game of the weekend was a 5-0 loss to NLTC B07 Brasil in West Richland, Wash., but the Timbers came out strong on Sunday to defeat United SC Aguilitas Juniors 4-3 in Wenatchee. Liam Martin scored the team’s first goal within the first 10 minutes of play. United scored to tie things up, but Keaton Gust responded quickly with the Timbers’ second goal. A corner kick by Philip Du resulted in goal number three by Ronan Sternberg. Defender Kyle Waddell moved the ball up to Gust, whose pass across the goal gave Sternberg the opportunity to score his second goal of the day. United scored two more goals on penalty kicks, but the Timbers maintained the lead.

Timbers North FC 05 Red boys: The Timbers, coached by Mike Thompson, began league play in the Regional Club League, U14 age group.

The Timbers North FC 05 Red boys won 3-2 in Federal Way, Wash., on Saturday vs. Federal Way FC. Goals were scored by Cooper Prohaska, Landon Lee and Bryce Allred. An assist was made by Isaac Fritts. Miles Taylor had nine saves in goal.

On Sunday, in Lynnwood, Wash., the Timbers won 6-1 vs. GS Surf FC. Jayce Simmet scored a hat trick, Cooper Prohaska scored 2 goals and Isaac Fritts scored 1. Gunner Larson and Landon Lee had assists. Miles Taylor had three saves.

Thorns FC North ’09 Girls Yellow: The Thorns opened the Pend Oreille Cup in Sandpoint on Saturday with a 13-2 win over Eastern Washington Surf. Thorns scorers included Olivia Smith with 5 goals, Chloe Burkholder with 4 goals, Savannah Spencer with 2 goals and Ryann Blair and Addison Karoblis with one goal each.

The tables were turned in the next game vs. FC Spokane Strasser, which was an 11-1 loss; Smith’s goal averted a shutout.

In the final game vs FC Spokane Orwick, the Thorns lost 4-3, with 2 goals by Ashley Yates and a third by Smith. Clara Schmidt and Kyleah Cline played strong in midfield.
