Hatley wins at

Mid-Amateur Championship

Reid Hatley of Hayden Lake shot rounds of 73-71-71 to win the 34th Pacific Northwest men’s Mid-Amateur Championship, which concluded on Friday at Crane Creek Country Club in Boise.

“It’s a five-shot win, but it was really a lot closer than that coming down the home stretch,” Hatley said. “I kind of separated myself from 13 to 18, but you can’t relax on any of the holes, every single one is a challenge.”

Hatley was the only player in the field to finish under par, shooting a three-day total of 215 to win by five strokes over Erik Hanson of Kirkland, Wash., and Jesse Hibler of Meridian, who tied for second at 220.

Bomar earns bid to

national championship

Prairie Falls co-owner Billy Bomar earned a berth into the 2018 Senior PGA Professional National Championship on Oct. 25-28, finishing tied for third in the Pacific Northwest Senior PGA Professional Championship at Arrowhead Golf Course in Molalla, Ore.

Bomar finished with a 72-72—144.

Tom Sovay of The Golf Club at Redmond Ridge won the event, finishing with a 70-71—141.

Mark Tunstill of Mallard Creek Golf Club, Scott Krieger of Broadmoor Golf Club and Kelly DeShaw of Yakima Elks Golf Course also qualified.

The national championship will be played at PGA Golf Club in Port St. Lucie, Fla.
