Hammond, a 5-foot-10, 175-pound senior quarterback, completed 15 of 18 passes for 345 yards and five touchdowns in the Lumberjacks’ 46-16 win over the New Plymouth Pilgrims in the opening round of the state 2A football playoffs on Friday afternoon. “We knew at some point, we’d have to throw the ball,” St. Maries coach Craig Tefft said. “So we worked hard on it all week in practice. We tried to run the ball, but they did a good job of stopping it. Kaden played really well today. He just played good football today.”
