BRANNON: For county clerk

| October 30, 2018 1:00 AM

First, thanks to The Press for allowing all our voices to be heard.

Now to the voters: Pay no attention to the hit job on our county clerk, Jim Brannon. Jim is a good man, doing a good job for the citizens of Kootenai County. If you pay close attention, you will realize that certain people are busily undermining Jim’s character in order to get their preferred candidate into office. There has been a slow drip of articles and opinion pieces in the paper over the past several months questioning Jim’s integrity in handling the county budget — the latest, and most vociferous one, being Steve Cameron’s column this week. That column is supposed to be the knockout punch. The “impartial” Mr. Cameron is warning us that, if we re-elect Jim Brannon, Chris Filios and Bill Brooks may file a lawsuit against the county clerk. Kootenai County will become a laughingstock — all because of those foolish voters.

It’s October, so be afraid — be very afraid! Have you heard our other county commissioners complaining about not having access to the county budget? Ask yourself why not.

Let it be known, that if Messrs. Filios and Brooks do something so foolish as to anger the electorate by wasting our tax dollars on a lawsuit, they will be facing their own “drain the swamp” moment at the ballot box. Can you say RECALL?

Vote for Jim Brannon, County Clerk. You will be glad you did.

ROBERT WHITE
