Annamay Sauerwein

Annamay Sauerwein passed away at North Idaho Hospice Schneidmiller House and went to her Heavenly home on Oct. 5, 2018, just two months shy of 99 years of age.

She was born on Dec. 4, 1919, on a farm in Boiestown, New Brunswick, Canada.

Mom lived in Clifton Park, N.Y. for more than 30 years before moving to Humble, Texas, in 1978. For the past 17 years, she has resided in Dalton Gardens, Idaho.

Mom was predeceased by a special nephew, Clarence Bamford, who she raised like a son.

She is survived by daughters, Lynda Swannie and Mary (William) Kelley; grandsons, Jason (Melissa) Swannie and Sean (Megan) Kelley; granddaughter, Christine (Jason) Maag; great-grandchildren, Logan, Colin, Talon, Hannah, Makenna and Ashlyn; Hope (wife of Clarence); and many other special nieces, nephews and caring, wonderful friends.

She was a lifelong Methodist and active in Community United Methodist Church in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho. She had a very strong and unwavering faith and loved her family, church and everyone who crossed her path. Mom was an avid and proud gardener and loved beautiful flowers. She was also an accomplished baker who loved sharing her special cakes, pies and cookies with family, friends and church. She was affectionately known as the “cookie lady” at church.

We will miss her very special prayers and dinner graces. She will remain in our hearts forever.

We will gather to celebrate Annamay at 3 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 3, 2018, at Community United Methodist Church, 1470 W. Hanley Ave., in Coeur d’Alene. A reception will follow.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be sent to Community United Methodist Church or to Hospice of North Idaho, 2290 W. Prairie Ave., Coeur d’Alene, ID 83815.

Our family would like to especially thank the staff at Kootenai Medical Center and Schneidmiller Hospice House for their excellent, loving, kind care. We are so grateful.
