Candidate forums slated later this month

COEUR d'ALENE — Two forums featuring candidates in the Nov. 6 general election will be held later this month in the Coeur d'Alene Library's Community Room.

The Press is sponsoring a forum from 6 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 23. It will feature candidates in contested races from legislative Districts 2, 3 and 4.

The Coeur Group, which includes young area businessmen, will sponsor a forum featuring contested Kootenai County races on Thursday, Oct. 25, from 6 to 7 p.m.

There will be 1-minute opening statements, questions from panelists and 1-minute closing statements in the Coeur Group forum. Questions will be formed by a subcommittee of Coeur Group members.

The forums, which are open to the public, will be taped and broadcast on CDA-TV through the election.

The Press will distribute a voters guide to newspaper subscribers on Oct. 20.
