KAVANAUGH: The fuzzy past

| October 5, 2018 1:00 AM

My family supported the Democratic Party from the presidency of our beloved Franklin Delano Roosevelt through the ill-fated candidacy of Robert Kennedy for president. A teenager, I joined the U.S. Navy, April 13, 1945, the day following our beloved president’s death.

As good Democrats, we endorsed and supported the actions of all the Kennedys; through the presidency, Cuba, space, Marilyn Monroe, Jackie, Chappaquiddick, Vietnam, Houston, Los Angeles, along with all other Americans. John F. Kennedy and the Kennedy family had many faults. We excused them, supported them, prided ourselves in their accomplishments and along with fellow Americans, anguished at John’s and Bobby’s murder.

Despite the well-orchestrated and untimely/timely performance of Mrs. Ford, I am unconvinced of its validity and suspect of its purpose, as introduced by Senator Feinstein. The purpose of the hearing: Verify and approve or disapprove the candidacy for appointment to the Supreme Court; doesn’t justify the vicious attacks on Judicial Candidate Kavanaugh.

The actions of Democrat Senators Blumenthal, Harris and others are unworthy of their office. I wanted to slug Blumenthal myself. We could have used his display of bravado at Sandy Hook at another more recent time.
