Jackie Lou (Avery) Orth, 85
Jackie passed away on Sept. 27, 2018. She was born to Ed and Etta Avery on Oct. 20, 1932, in Spokane, Wash. Jackie was married to her husband, Archie for 55 years before his death in 2008. Together they had six children, Kathy, Janet, Archie (“Buddy”), Kenny, Nancy and Ricky.
Jackie loved to help people. She was the “Queen of Community Service.” Some of her affiliations were Kiwanis, BABs, American Legion Auxiliary, Bayview Chamber and any and all fundraisers that were important to her community or country. She loved her family deeply and would do anything for them.
Jackie worked as a transportation coordinator at Commercial Creamery before retiring to Bayview, Idaho, in 1992 with Archie. They enjoyed many years of golfing, fishing, hunting, playing cards, dancing and throwing huge parties with live music. Jackie loved to have company. She could whip up a feast in a minute’s notice. Her home was the place to be on all holidays. She belonged to an “elite” poker group which met every month. These ladies were serious! They became very good friends and remained in contact until her death. Jackie had three different cancers that she fought and won. She was 15 years cancer-free because she kicked its butt! She was one tough lady.
She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Archie; and children, Kathy, Buddy and Kenny. She is survived by her children, Janet, Nancy and Ricky and several nieces, nephews and grandchildren. We will love and miss her forever.
Please join us in a celebration of life service (what a life she had!) on Oct. 11, 2018 at the American Legion in Athol, Idaho. The service will be at 10:30 a.m. with a luncheon to follow. Please bring your memories of Jackie to share.
English Funeral Chapel, Post Falls, has been entrusted with the arrangements. Please sign her online memorial at www.englishfuneralchapel.com.
