Police: Shooting suspect fled in vehicle with Kootenai County plates

| November 28, 2018 12:00 AM

Spokane County detectives believe the suspect in a shooting in front of an apartment building on Third Avenue in Spokane Valley on Tuesday fled in a white four-door 2013 Chevrolet Impala with a spoiler on the back and Kootenai County license plates K579041.

An adult male was reportedly shot in the arm by a male acquaintance during an argument just before noon. The victim was transported to a hospital with what appears to be a non-life-threatening injury.

"Investigators learned the victim and the suspect know each other and were involved in a dispute, which ended when the suspect pulled a handgun and shot at the victim, striking him in the arm," a Spokane County Sheriff's Office press release states.

The name of the suspect was not released by the sheriff's office on Tuesday afternoon due to conflicting information.

Residents who have seen or know of the location of the vehicle are urged to call 911.

Detectives do not believe there is any danger to the community directly stemming from the incident. However, the suspect should be considered armed and should not be approached.
