Local nonprofits receive support from Avista Foundation

Food banks throughout the region and community service agencies serving those who need a helping hand received $268,752 in support from the Avista Foundation and Avista Corp.

Local nonprofits that received assistance include: Post Falls Food Bank, $400; Spirit Lake Food Bank, $400; Press Christmas for All, $500; Children's Village, $1,000; and St. Vincent de Paul, $250.

Avista makes a portion of its community investments through the Avista Foundation, a separate, nonprofit organization established by Avista Corp.

Funds for Avista Corp. contributions come from company profits and are not included in customers’ rates.

Organizations that received the donations are identified by Avista’s CARES (Customer Assistance Referral and Evaluation Service) representatives.
