University High too much for Post Falls girls
POST FALLS — The host Trojans fell behind by double-digits in the first quarter, which proved to be too much to overcome as University High of Spokane Valley earned a 58-32 nonconference win on Monday night.
The Titans outscored Post Falls 16-2 in the opening quarter, and while the Trojans cut the lead to single digits, they had difficulty scoring against U-High.
“U-High is really good, and they were aggressive to start the game. We weren’t,” Post Falls coach Marc Allert said. “Once we got a little more aggressive we played pretty well, especially on defense. We just had a tough time scoring.”
Elli Boni led the Titans with 19 points, while Tyler and Jacksen McCliment-Call — two juniors who transferred to U-High from Post Falls — combined to score nine points against their former team.
Dylan Lovett and Bubba Gleaves scored seven points each for Post Falls (1-2), which travels to Lewis and Clark HS on Wednesday.
