WSU to host first and second rounds of NCAA volleyball tourney
PULLMAN — The first and second rounds of the 64-team NCAA volleyball tournament go through Pullman, as the Washington State volleyball program earned the No. 16 overall seed in the 2018 tournament, and will be one of 16 host sites as well.
The 2018 tournament bid marks the third consecutive trip to the NCAA Tournament for WSU, which advanced to the second round in both 2016 and 2017. The Cougars went 21-9 in the regular season and finished fourth in the Pac-12.
Washington State will face Northern Arizona in the first round Friday at 7 p.m. at Bohler Gym. Tennessee will play Colorado State in the first match at 4. Winners play Saturday for a berth in a regional.
This will be WSU’s first time hosting the tournament since 2001, when the Cougars faced Hawaii inside Bohler Gym.
