HOMELESS: Background doesn't matter

| November 23, 2018 12:00 AM

I write to voice my support of Tim Stiles in “Homeless: And Hypocritical” on Nov. 16. He thinks it’s hypocritical to house the homeless on gym floors with mats while complaining that asylum-seekers deserve better than a gym floor.

I agree that our homeless population shouldn’t be sleeping on gym floors. Neither should immigrants. Let’s raise the standard for all. We’re the richest country in history and it’s resulted in homeless people just down the street from “The Joneses’” second, third or fourth home.

Enacting morality-based social justice doesn’t require finger-pointing across the proverbial aisle. We have resources for all to thrive, let’s be part of the solution.
