Lake City's Mitchell, Kaufman head all-state volleyball teams
Following input from coaches statewide, the Idaho all-state volleyball teams for all six classifications have been announced.
Klaire Mitchell and Ashley Kaufman of Lake City were named to the 5A first team. Kelly Horning of Coeur d’Alene was named to the second team, and Reilley Chapman of Lake City earned honorable mention.
Kenzie Dean of Timberlake was named to the 3A second team. Timberlake’s McKeeley Tonkin, Brooke Jessen and Kylie Marneris earned honorable mention.
Brooke Stevens and Ellie Kiebert of Clark Fork were named to the 1A Division II second team.
Coaches from each classification nominated players from their program and other programs a few weeks ago. Then, a full list of nominees was sent back to coaches. The coaches then voted for the top 14 athletes in their classification. This year more than 40 coaches were involved in the nominating and voting.
