James ‘Jim’ Haislet, 76

Jim Haislet, age 76, of Spirit Lake, Idaho passed away on Nov. 10, 2018, after a five-year battle with lung cancer.

Jim was born in Chicago, Ill., on July 30, 1942, to Ed and Anne Haislet. He proudly served in the U.S. Air Force before attending Idaho State University, where he received a pharmacy degree.

Jim moved to Spirit Lake, where he met and married Sherry Larson. Jim was a beloved pharmacist in the community. He owned and operated the Spirit Lake Apothecary Pharmacy (previously Tschetter’s Pharmacy) for several years. After closing the Apothecary, he worked as a pharmacist for Yoke’s and Walgreens before retiring.

Jim touched his community with his care for others, his love for the outdoors and adventuring, his great intelligence and wisdom, his generous and kind spirit, and for his deep and powerful love for his family. He loved living on Spirit Lake.

In the summer Jim loved being on his pontoon boat or riding his motorcycle. Jim was a member of the Retreads Motorcycle Club. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, playing cards and watching football. Jim was an avid stamp collector.

In the winter, he loved spending time in Arizona with his wife and son, Rob. Jim was a past president of the Spirit Lake Chamber of Commerce, the Rotary Club, and the Lions Club. He was a member of the Shepard of the Hills Lutheran Church in Rathdrum.

Jim is survived by his wife, Sherry; daughters, Lisa Sweeney and Jolene Ferguson; sons, Rob Webb and Eric Webb; his sister, Kathy (Jerry) Krueger; and a brother. He is also survived by numerous grandchildren, a great-grandchild, a niece, nephews and many friends. Jim will be forever loved and remembered in the hearts of many.

“Thank you, Jim. All our love goes with you and your love stays with us forever … Back at ya!”

Our family will be forever grateful for the wonderful care that was shown to Jim at Ivy Court, the Crest Home health care team (especially Debra James) and the Spirit Lake Ambulance.

Cremation has taken place and a celebration of Jim’s life will be held this summer at Spirit Lake.

In lieu of flowers, the family has suggested that donations be made to Spirit Lake Fire, P.O. Box 116, Spirit Lake, ID 83869.
