Larry Dille, 81

Larry E. Dille, 81, of Hayden, Idaho, passed away peacefully at the Hospice of North Idaho Schneidmiller House on Nov. 11, 2018. He was born Jan. 15, 1937, in Olds, Alberta, Canada to Charles Earl Dille and Veronica Miller. His family moved to Missoula, Mont., in 1943 and later moved to Plains, Mont., in 1952.

He married Rosalie Voss in 1954 in Thompson Falls, Mont., and moved to Hayden, Idaho, where he resided for the rest of his lifetime. He was employed at Diamond International Mill until mid-1960 and then moved on to the logging industry driving logging truck. He drove for several different employers and finally became his own boss by purchasing a truck. It was a dream come true! He loved driving and being in the woods. He retired in 2009 at the age of 72.

Larry’s interests in his early years were building stock cars and racing at the local tracks. Any time he had the chance to get his hands dirty on any type of engine, he would! This was a self-taught talent and he was very good at it. One time he took an engine apart just to see if he could put it back together and he was successful!

Larry is survived by his spouse, Rosalie of Hayden; son, Arlen of Post Falls, Idaho; daughter, Sue (Dan) Palmer of Dalton Gardens, Idaho; sister, Ramona Denius of Hayden; numerous nieces and nephews; seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by his son, Steven; his father and mother; two brothers; five sisters and one grandchild.

There will be no services at this time but rather a celebration of life at a later date. The family requests that memorials be sent to Hospice of North Idaho Schneidmiller House at 2290 W. Prairie Ave., Coeur d’Alene, ID 83815.

Yates Funeral Home is entrusted with final arrangements. Please visit Larry’s online memorial and sign his guest book at www.yatesfuneralhomes.com.
