COLUMN: Here's your answer
Mr. Cameron; in your Nov. 8 “A Brand New Day” article, even though you say you’re not picking on Republicans, you come across as complaining about us voters as making what “you” felt was odd decisions. Then, what came across as someone crying the blues, you said, (Quote) “I don’t understand how you can be running on a winning issue, something embraced by a huge statewide majority, and get blitzed yourself even though the issue itself will become law. It’s about being a Democrat, I guess. Has anyone got a better explanation?” (End quote)
First of all, when you said, (“It’s about being a Democrat, I guess.”) it sounded like you actually played that as some sort of “race card.”
Secondly, to your question, “Has anyone got a better explanation?” Yes, I have a better explanation. Could it be as simple as that the “odd” way some of us voters consider a candidate is by more than one issue? Turns out we didn’t need a Dem. or a Rep. to get things done, did we. Mr. Cameron, the “odd” thing to me is that an intelligent person like yourself couldn’t, or was un-willing to see the simple common-sense answer beyond the Dem. or Rep. label.
