Douglas B. Hahn

Douglas B. Hahn went to be with the Lord on Oct. 26, 2018. He is survived by his loving wife Caroline Hahn; daughter, Chandra (Phil) Tesone of Coeur d’Alene, Idaho; daughter, Carree (Brandon) Waltman of Kalispell, Mont.; daughter, Charity (Greg) Tingley of Aztec, N.M.; son, Clayton (Brea) Hansen of Colorado Springs, Colo.; grandchildren, Elizabeth Tesone, Hunter and Taylan Waltman, Kaytlynn Tingley and Gabrielle and Bianca Hansen; sister, Jeanne (Pete) Sabotnik of Boulder, Colo.; sister, Linda (Ron) Nieman of Tempe, Ariz. and brother, Bruce Hahn of Bloomfield, Colo. He was predeceased in death by his dearest grandpa, Clyde L. Hahn of Longmont, Colo.; mother and father, Oralyn and James Hahn of Boulder; and his sister, Karen Crenik.

Douglas was born Aug. 26, 1956, in Fort Lenord Wood, Mo. He considered Boulder, Colo., his hometown. After his father left the military, Doug spent all his childhood in Boulder attending Martin Parks School. He was also the first class to attend the newly built Fair View High.

Douglas married Caroline Hansen on Oct. 7, 1989, in Loveland, Colo., and loved becoming an instant family of six. He worked at being the best husband, father and grandfather.

Douglas loved reading from a young age. Cowboy books were his favorite. Doug traveled the USA in his younger years with his guitar beside him all the way, writing, playing and singing music as his gift. He started and played in the band, Scarlet Rose.

Doug was an expert at computers and worked many years in the computer field before his illness. Before computers, Doug worked as an auto mechanic. In 2006 Doug had a liver transplant and was grateful to have 12 more years of life.

There will be a memorial service for Douglas at 3 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 11, 2018, at the Canvas Church, 2200 N. Seventh St., Coeur d’Alene, Idaho. Doug’s favorite place to celebrate eating was Thai Bamboo. The family invites you to join them for dinner after the service at 6 p.m. at Thai Bamboo, 2010 N.
