Veterans Day is tomorrow. Here are a few ways that Kootenai County residents will be honoring and thanking the men and women, and their families, who have served this great nation.

Saturday, Nov. 10

2 p.m. | Veterans Recognition Ceremony, presented by American Legion Post 154, the N.W. Guardian Riders, Military Order of the Purple Heart and the City of Rathdrum. Meet, honor and thank our veterans at Lakeland High School, 7006 W. Highway 53, in Rathdrum. This year, special recognition will be given to Vietnam era veterans. 208-691-7964.

4 p.m. | Open House and Dinner at American Legion Post 143, located at 1138 E. Poleline Ave. in Post Falls. View a display of military memorabilia throughout the Post. Dinner will be served from 6 to 8 p.m. for $12, and Veterans eat free.

6 p.m. | Annual Veterans Dinner at American Legion Post 149, 5525 E. Highway 54 in Athol. Hosted by the Post 149 Auxiliary Unit. Dinner is free for all military personnel. Non-military attendees, $7.

Sunday, Nov. 11

10:45 | Veterans Day Program at McEuen Park. Presented by American Legion Post 143 and VFW Post 889. Honor veterans with songs, speakers and a ceremonial bell ringing.

11 a.m. to 2 p.m. | Texas Roadhouse welcomes all veterans, including all active, retired or former U.S. military, to choose one of 10 free entrees from our special Veterans Day menu. For information, visit texasroadhouse.com.

The Roosevelt Inn in downtown Coeur d’Alene offers available rooms to veterans and active duty military members on Veterans Day, in which they will enjoy all of the services of the Roosevelt and be served a complimentary breakfast the following morning. Monday, Nov. 12

11 a.m. | City of Hayden Veterans Day and Distinguished Veteran Ceremony next to Hayden City Hall at McIntire Family Park, 8930 N. Government Way. Honor our veterans, celebrate the 2018 Distinguished Veteran and listen to a fascinating presentation by a guest speaker. Immediately following the ceremonies, refreshments will be served in the City Council Chambers to celebrate of the 2018 Distinguished Veteran, Gregory “Mac” McCarty. 208-209-1080.

1:30 | Betty Kiefer Elementary School, 13898 Schooner St., Rathdrum, will honor veterans with a special program presented by students.
