Author Jonathan Johnson to give reading Nov. 13 at NIC

North Idaho College will host a talk by author Jonathan Johnson, who is the author of “May Is an Island” from noon to 1 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 13. The reading is free and open to the public.

Johnson is a poet, memoirist and playwright. His poems have been anthologized in Best American Poetry and published in numerous magazines and journals. His books include the poetry collections “May Is an Island,” “In the Land We Imagined Ourselves,” and “Mastodon, 80% Complete,” as well as the memoirs “The Desk on the Sea” and “Hannah and the Mountain.” His play “Ode” premiered in 2013 as part of the GetLit! Literary Festival. He teaches in the MFA program at Eastern Washington University.

The event is sponsored by NIC’s literary magazine Trestle Creek Review, the NIC Writing Center and the NIC English Club.
