North Idaho Eye Institute building new facility

A new facility for North Idaho Eye Institute is under construction at 8378 N. Government Way in Hayden.

The 7,000-square-foot office-clinic will include 11 exam rooms, a Lasik room, a visual field testing room, staff office and support areas. It will be completed next year. Architect is Hayden-based Longwell-Trapp and general contractor is Meridian Construction & Development of Spokane Valley.

Lovely Chaos opens on Fourth Street

Stylish goods for your home and person are emphasized at Lovely Chaos that just opened at 806 Fourth St. It is a sister store to Junk on Fourth Street (across the street).

The store is a modern boutique with a big-city feel and rustic charm. It includes new and vintage kitchen and furniture items, home decor, clothing, jewelry, gifts and locally handcrafted goods. Hours are 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. weekdays, 10 to 5 Saturday and noon to 4 Sunday. Phone 208-930-4232.

The Spice & Tea Exchange opens in Riverstone

With a wide selection of seasonings for any food lover and dozens of choices for a tea enthusiast, The Spice & Tea Exchange will open Thursday at 2061 Main St. in Riverstone.

It offers more than 140 spices, over 80 exclusive hand-mixed blends, 16 naturally flavored sugars, an array of salts and more than 30 exotic teas.

“Visitors are immediately immersed in a sensory experience where they can explore, open the jars and smell and speak with knowledgeable staff who truly love what they do,” said Judy McAfee, owner with husband Bill and daughter and son-in-law Annie and JT Wensman. “We hand-mix our custom blends and seasonings, bag our teas and put together unique gifts.”

Fabrica Vida opens on ‘low’ Sherman

An eclectic variety of clothing, jewelry, bags, accessories and home decor is offered at Fabrica Vida opening 11 a.m. Friday at 414B Sherman. Located between Super Silver and Lucky Monkey, it is nestled downstairs sharing the foyer with Super Silver Jewelry.

The store includes a studio to create hand-sewn embroidered and embellished jackets and clothing using a combination of recycled fabrics, vintage and jackets and a mix of eclectic and worldly textiles for a unique piece of clothing.

- Payless Shoes will close at year’s end in Ironwood Square. Details soon. And inThreadz will move one space to the former Quizno’s place. Watch for Hu Hut Mongolian Grill in those locations (between Government Way and Lincoln Way off Ironwood Drive). A new place nearby will be CDA Hot Yoga. And Gyro Shack is closed there.

- A “Coming Soon” sign for Precision Fitness is with the building in the northwest corner of Sherman and 15th.

- Bakery by The Lake at Parkside is celebrating its 10th anniversary with the announcement that it will have a second location in April.

- PayneWest Insurance is moving Nov. 14 to Suite 502 in Parkside Tower at 601 E. Front Ave. from 703 Lakeside.

- The Rebel Junk Vintage Market will be at the Kootenai County Fairgrounds this Friday and Saturday.

- A&B Market will open as a convenience store at 402 Sherman in December.

- Dr. Dru Choker will have a veterinary clinic at 1336 W. Kathleen (across from Ramsey School).

- Philly Express closed on Northwest Boulevard.

- Taco Time closed on Fourth Street.

- J.A. Bertsch Heating & Cooling will move from Hayden to 3645 Government Way. And Paragon Brewing will open its new building at 5785 Government Way at the end of the year.

- The former Armour Antiques on Sherman will become Anytime Fitness.

- Syringa Sushi will move to the former Bistro on Spruce location on Fourth Street. And a noodle place may come into the old Syringa location.

- Riverview Towers at 2100 Northwest Blvd. has new occupants in Evergreen Home Loans and Meine Insurance.

- Watch for a Jitterz coffee stand at Prairie and Heartland.

- Roger’s Burgers & Ice Cream, already with two places in Coeur d’Alene and one in Post Falls, is building a fourth, this one at 8833 N. Hess St. in Hayden.

- Hibachi Sushi is coming to 221 E. Sherman. We hear a German restaurant will be where Camera Corral left (for Northwest Boulevard) on Sherman.

- A new Fu-Ki Japanese Steakhouse is under construction where the Kynrede Cafe was at 8885 N. Government Way in Hayden.

- Idaho Central Credit Union is under construction on West Appleway near Winco.

- A new place downtown soon will be Live For Blu fine art at 505 E. Sherman.

- Staybridge Suites hotel is under construction in Riverstone.

- Hmmm. Pronouncing “Moscow”: An English teacher says the Idaho city is “Mosscoh” and the Russia city is “Mosscow.” OK?
