The children of Don and Veda Ziegler hosted a joint wedding anniversary and birthday party for their parents on Saturday, Sept. 22, 2018, at the Montrose Senior Community Clubhouse in Post Falls. Don and Veda have been married for 70 years and Don just celebrated his 90th birthday.

Don and Veda were married on Sept. 20, 1948, in Coulee Dam, Wash., but have lived a majority of their married life in Coeur d’Alene. Don was born on Sept. 6, 1928, in Spokane and moved with his family to the Grand Coulee/Coulee Dam area when he was young. He grew up there until getting married and moving to Coeur d’Alene.

The party was attended by many family members: children Doneda Allen, Craig and Dar Ziegler, Kristy Thode and Gail Wilson; grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, sisters, nieces and nephews; along with numerous longtime good friends. The celebration was very special since so many attended, with several traveling from afar, to pay tribute to this amazing couple. Two very special guests were Don’s sister, Margaret, from Lynnwood, Wash., and Veda’s sister, Betty, from Watsonville, Calif.

A good time was had by all — after all, 70 and 90 are big numbers — a wonderful reason to celebrate!

ANNIVERSARY

Rich and Vikki Ballinger

25th Anniversary

Rich and Vikki Ballinger celebrated their 25th wedding anniversary on Oct. 11, 2018.

They met in Spokane at Seafirst Bankcard Services and were married on a beautiful fall Columbus Day, Oct. 11, 1993, at the Hitching Post in Coeur d’Alene. They moved to Coeur d’Alene in 1996, then several years later to Post Falls, where they still reside.

Rich and Vikki have three wonderful children, Travis Hoerner, Kelli Ballinger and Sheilla Ballinger; and four AMAZING grandchildren, Tyvon, Jordan, Aubree and Braxton.

Rich and Vikki credit their success to our Lord Jesus Christ. The scripture that gets them through each day is Phillipians 4:13 “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.” Thank you for loving me through all the years Babydoll.
