DIVIDERS: Make them uniters

| November 4, 2018 1:00 AM

I’d like to thank a fellow reader who submitted a letter addressing the problem in our nation currently. John Slaughter, on Oct. 24, voiced the opinion of many free thinkers among us. We should not tolerate those who divide these once united states.

All of this name-calling and blame-shifting needs to be resolved. We are not a collective of misinformed/misguided citizens in this country. Why does anyone vote solely by party, especially after the parties have been acting so childish and destructive? You don’t need to look further than within our borders to find our nation’s true threat. It spews hate, builds bombs, massacres schoolchildren and all originates within our own four corners.

This recent series of failed bombing attempts exemplifies how far we’ve fallen. Just as accepting a leader who has reversed environmental protections and placed guns back in the hands of mentally ill. What happened to having peaceful differences of opinion? How did we allow the bullies to run our government like the circus it has become? The Ring Master shows no compassion and was born a millionaire yet is viewed as the voice of the working class?

Many of us have been fooled and this fragile country has been weakened by our own refusal to coexist with all of its residents. Don’t let the game being played in government continue. Don’t sit idly by while the fire spreads. It’s not in the distance, it’s already at your doorstep. It’s high time to act.
