PATANO: Visit central committee meetings

| May 25, 2018 1:00 AM

We are told that Sandy Patano is the chair of the Republican North Idaho Political Action Committee. These are all significant members of the community, are at heart good people, but who differ significantly with the more conservative members of our community.

The Republican North Idaho Political Action Committee is “… a group of independent minded, conservative Republicans, … formed to support rational, responsible Republican candidates to serve in … public office who are committed to fiscal responsibility, limited government and free markets.”

“NIPAC looks for leaders who demonstrate common sense conservative values, the ability to build consensus and get results. We support leaders who show strength and independence from the extremist ideologues of the party.”

Executive Committee members are: Brad Corkill, Jim Pierce, Dean Haagenson, Sandy Patano, Katie Brodie, Laurie Thomas, Jeffrey L. Smith and Mara’d Sjostrom.

Sandy obviously knows that the Central Committee is made up of members of the community who are elected by the citizens of their particular precinct. If she does not agree with the present thrust of the committee, her argument is with the citizens of that precinct, not with the members themselves.

Members of the committee are not seasoned politicians and most would not even know that a central committee is a Political Action Committee.

If Sandy wants to know what goes on, she should visit central committee meetings, which are open to the public.
