DISCIPLINE: Way to be

| March 16, 2018 1:00 AM

We must discipline ourselves with the intentions of maturing and growing from our discipline.

Discipline ourselves financially by spending less than make and making sure we allocate an appropriate amount for rainy days and our future. Discipline ourselves to delay momentary and fleeting gratification for a sustaining and enduring pursuit.

Discipline ourselves in our relationships by opening the ears within our hearts with the intention to understand. Disciplining ourselves by viewing others with the eyes we would wish to be viewed with, eyes within the soul that see our true character and accept us for we are.

Discipline ourselves mentally. Learning that we must love ourselves; for if we can not love ourselves how can we ever begin to show love to some one else. Let us discipline ourselves to daily overcome yesterday’s woes and focus on the beauty of today and come to prepare for tomorrow.

So often the word “discipline” had carried with it through the years a negative connotation that we as a society, a people, have come to avoid it altogether not realizing how self discipline assists us in learning more growing and maturing in many aspects of our lives. Let us therefor discipline ourselves as to reap the rewards of our own hard work and come to change our perspective on the word discipline and see that appropriate discipline in moderation is a healthy and will benefit us and those around us as well immensely.
