VIOLENCE: Numbed by repetition

According to the A.C. Nielsen Co. (a statistics gathering company), the average number of violent acts seen on TV by the age of 18 is around 200,000. CNN Annalist Mark O’Mara claimed in July 2014 that “by the time a child is 18 years of age, they’ve killed over 100,000 people in video games and other online things.”

If the average 18-year-old has watched 200,000 acts of violence, and committed 100,000 “killings” on electronic devices, how does it affect them? Experts say it desensitizes them to the suffering and tragedy of real life violence.

Violent movies, TV and electronic games are destroying the minds and morals of our nation’s children. According to the Nielsen survey, 79 percent of Americans believe TV violence helps precipitate real life mayhem. Yet, where is the outrage and demand for reform of the “entertainment” industry?

With this purposely created addiction to violence, combined with mind altering drugs, teenagers and young adults are being programmed for horrific deeds, like school shootings.

The Liberal Media and “Progressive” Politicians blame the guns that criminals use for the violence. They want more gun control laws, claiming that will reduce the shootings. We already have more gun laws than can be enforced. Adding more may keep some mentally unstable people from legally getting guns. News Flash! Criminals do not obey laws. That’s why they are criminals. If they cannot buy a gun they will steal it.

Parents must protect their children from the brainwashing of violence and killing.
