Hunters Glen is the type of neighborhood you stumble upon and say, “Wow, this a nice little secret.”

Nestled just off Ross Point Road near the Spokane River in Post Falls, Hunters Glen is a tranquil collection of homes surrounded by trees. The neighborhood creates an enclosed circle, making it free of any through traffic.

Best of all, it sits within walking distance of Kiwanis Park, which provides beach access to the river.

Kevin Bennett of Bennett Realty Group, Keller Williams Realty-Coeur d’Alene, represents a home in the neighborhood currently under contract. He said the location has been a popular one for buyers for quite some time.

“It’s not a huge neighborhood but it still has some walking trails and green space,” Bennett said. “We’ve had several clients in there through the years, and everybody seems to love it. People tend to stay there for quite a while once they get in.”

Homes in Hunters Glen were mostly built around 2001, and the homeowners in the community have maintained the quality of living. HOA fees are $165/year, and the community has maintained an informative website with local resources, newsletter, CC&RS and by-laws and online request forms. Hunters Glen even holds an annual community garage sale in the summer.

The neighborhood is currently zoned for Frederick Post Kindergarten, Ponderosa Elementary, Post Falls Middle and High Schools.

Hunters Glen may sit tucked away near the river, but Post Falls’ primary amenities and access to Interstate 90 are just a couple minutes by car, with Ross Point Road connecting with Seltice Way and Highway 41.

Of course the main attraction near Hunters Glen is Kiwanis Park, located at 4176 E. Weatherby Ave. The 40-acre park includes picnic shelters, restrooms, playground equipment, scenic wooded trails, fishing opportunities and an unguarded swimming beach. The Higgins Pavilion on site is a covered shelter that can accommodate up to 75 people and can be reserved for private functions.

Homes in Hunters Glen vary in size and therefore also in price. Two recent active listings include a four-bedroom, two-bathroom home with just more than 1,800 square feet listed at $285,000. A much larger home, one with 3,500+ square feet, was listed at $415,000.
