GOVERNMENT: Getting what voters deserve

| June 17, 2018 1:00 AM

Are you faithful reader a loyal, law-abiding citizen who believes that our elected federal government is performing its duties with the intention of doing what is best for the average citizen? If so, you have your head where light does not shine.

I would guesstimate that less than 20 percent of the elected officials in Washington today are truly honest, with the guts to stand up and express their true beliefs. The legislation put forth is rarely written by the legislators, but by special interest lobbyists or staff influenced by them.

Today we have a two-part justice system: the Clinton Group and the rest of us. The Republicans in Washington are just as bad as the liberals. Observe the failure to publicly investigate and try those obviously guilty of law violations. Jeff Sessions is a good example of a weak and morally dishonest AG.

Why is President Trump so irrationally disliked by so many when he has accomplished more in the 500 or so days in office than any president in history? One of the reasons is that he is breaking up some of the corrupt groups and another is that much of what he has done is the opposite of liberals’ desires. Consequently, he can do nothing right in their eyes and their stupidity has been on public display.

I cannot believe some of the idiotic statements made by Pelosi, Maxine Waters and Schumer and to think that they are part of the management group of the government. I wish I had a suggested way to improve things, but until the voters get smart and elect honest intelligent officials, we will continue down this dangerous path.
