Few destinations can top Sandpoint in the summertime. With bountiful recreational access and beautiful views of Lake Pend Oreille, as well as a dynamic combination of arts, entertainment, shopping, dining and outdoor activities, Sandpoint is the kind of town that often inspires tourists to become permanent residents.
If you’re going to live in Sandpoint, few options compare to the centricity and convenience of the new Sandcreek Lofts at Sandpoint Marina. The 13-unit vacation rental-style complex is located in the heart of downtown and within short walking distance of Sandpoint City Beach, the boardwalk and the town’s charming lineup of shops and eateries.
Construction is expected to be completed this August on the Sandcreek Lofts, which is the latest project of Dover Bay Development, the people behind the nearby Dover Bay Waterfront Community. A second building at Sandcreek is also planned for the near future.
“It’s all about the location — it’s in town and right on the water,” said John Sletager of Dover Bay Development.
The one or two-bedroom units rest alongside the Sandpoint Marina and feature premium views of the city and surroundings, including views of Trestle Creek, Lake Pend Oreille and nearby Schweitzer Mountain Resort, depending on the unit.
Luxurious living is the prevailing theme at Sandcreek, which blends into Sandpoint’s streetscapes with a contemporary/marina classic style. Welcoming open floor plans, 8- to 10-foot windows, quartz countertops, stainless steel appliances and premium carpeting and flooring are standard features included. Each home also comes with a covered parking space, with additional overflow parking available nearby.
Homeowners Association fees are nearly set with the intention of staying below fees at comparable properties, and Dover Bay Property Management will handle on-site maintenance and rental services. Buyers have great flexibility in how they handle the properties — homes can serve as permanent residences, as well as long-term rentals or short-term vacation units.
Sandcreek Lofts consists of four levels and includes a private courtyard entryway. Units on the boardwalk level range from 637 to 990 square feet, with prices between $299,900 to $439,000. Third and fourth level properties range from 643 to 900 square feet with prices ranging from $359,000 to $439,000. Lake street level homes are currently sold out, and the remaining units in the nearly-completed building are selling fast. Moorage at the Sandpoint Marina is also available, or buyers can also opt for a slip at the Marina Village at the nearby Dover Bay Waterfront Community, located just 3 miles from the Sandcreek Lofts.
Not surprisingly, the Dover Bay Waterfront Community is heating up for summer. The community includes numerous living opportunities across several unique neighborhoods and also offers vacation bungalows for short-term visitors. The newly expanded Dover Bay Marina Village offers seasonal and short-term boat slip moorage, recreation rentals like kayaks, an outdoor heated swimming pool and spa, fitness center, full-service restaurant.
All told, the Dover Bay Waterfront Community includes more than nine acres of beaches and park areas, as well as nine miles of walking and bicycle trails, and 285 acres of forest, lakes and open meadows.
