Showcase returns Saturday at Coeur d'Alene Resort Course

COEUR d’ALENE — The fifth edition of The Showcase, part of a weekend fundraiser for cancer awareness, returns Saturday at The Coeur d’Alene Resort Golf Course. The nine-hole exhibition is scheduled to begin at 10 a.m.

The Showcase, which benefits the Community Cancer Fund, has raised nearly $10 million for the fight against cancer.
Private events for celebrities/sponsors were scheduled for Thursday and today. The Summer Bash follows the celebrity nine-hole event Saturday.
As of Thursday afternoon, 39 celebrities were confirmed to appear at the weekend’s activities — though not all will be playing golf on Saturday.
The list of celebs includes: Marcus Allen, Richard Dent, Eric Dickerson, Roy Green, Seth Joyner, Neil Lomax, Ryan Longwell, Jim McMahon, Sidney Rice, Mark Rypien and Bryan Walters (football); Bruce Bowen, Mike Brown, Billy Donovan, Craig
Ehlo, Desmond Mason, Adam Morrison and Len “Truck” Robinson (basketball); Wayne Gretzky, Tyler Johnson, Kelly Chase, Jon Cooper, Russ Courtnall, Grant Fuhr, Barrett Jackman, Brenden Morrow, Bobby Ryan, Sheldon Souray, Doug Weight and Ray Whitney (hockey); Roger Clemens, Fred McGriff and Shane Victorino (baseball); as well as Gonzaga basketball coach Mark Few, along with Kevin Dillon, Janet Gretzky, Kelley James, Anthony Mackie and Preston Pohl.
