| July 27, 2018 1:00 AM

A Coeur d’Alene man was arrested early Thursday on suspicion of kidnapping and robbery.

Lance Harden, 23, is accused of confronting the Zip Trip clerk outside the business on east Best Avenue and ordering the clerk back inside the business while threatening to shoot him.

Once inside, money was taken from the cash register and the suspect fled on foot.

Coeur d’Alene Police received the report of the armed robbery at 2:30 a.m. and responded immediately.

With assistance from the Kootenai County Sheriffs’ Office and Idaho State Police personnel, a large perimeter was established to contain the suspect. A police K-9 and Air 1 from Spokane County were used to search the area.

Around 5 a.m., officers contacted a person who matched the description of the suspect and developed probable cause to arrest him for kidnapping and robbery. Officers remained in the area searching for other evidence that had been discarded by the suspect as he fled.
