USA Explosion win twice, stay alive at nationals

HUNTINGTON BEACH, Calif. — Keegan Wise, who attended Banks (Ore.) High and has signed with Central Washington, hit a walk-off single to lift the North Idaho-based USA Explosion past the Corona Angels 3-2 in a consolation game at the 18U Premier Girls Fastpitch National Championship at the Fountain Park Sports Complex on Tuesday.

The Explosion will play another loser-out game in the Platinum Bracket today at 12:30 p.m.

Lake City High product Emma Gray also had an RBI in the win against the Corona Angels.

Earlier in the day, Makayla Marshall (University High in Spokane) had three RBIs as the Explosion eliminated the Cal Raiders 11-1.

Gray walked and drove in a run for the Explosion, who scored the first 11 runs of the game.
