OXYGEN: A frustrated breather
This letter is to thank Bill Brooks for his help with my dilemma with my oxygen provider, Preferred Medical.
The problem is that Preferred Medical would not issue the portable oxygen concentrator, prescribed by my doctor, unless I took a Medicare required test, at a cost of $250, which Medicare would not pay. Since I am housebound without this unit, I did pay $3,000. for the unit out of my pocket.
When I contacted Medicare about the test they said “there is no such test and if they required one, they would pay for it.” At this point I contacted Bill Brooks and he has been unable to get a response from Preferred Medical.
This letter is out of frustration. Either Preferred Medical is dishonest or ignorant and will not respond
to provide us with the name of who does this test and by what authority.
