Missoula Children's Theatre holding auditions for The Pied Piper on Aug. 6

An audition will be held for the Missoula Children’s Theatre production of The Pied Piper from 10 a.m. to noon on Monday, Aug. 6, 2018, at Prairie Avenue Community Church, 3639 W. Prairie Ave. in Hayden. All those auditioning should arrive at 10 a.m. and plan to stay for the full two hours. Some of the cast members will be asked to stay for a rehearsal immediately following the audition.

Among the roles to be cast are the Pied Piper, Sara, the Mayor’s kids, the Mayor’s council, the Hamelin Administrative Team (HAT), barbers, cooks, townskids and the troublesome rats. Students, first through 12th grades, are encouraged to audition. No advance preparation is necessary. Assistant directors will also be cast to assist with the technical aspects of the production.

The Missoula Children’s Theatre touring productions are complete with costumes, scenery, props and makeup. MCT tour actors and directors will conduct rehearsals throughout the week from 10 a.m. to noon and 12:15 to 2:15 p.m. each day.

The Pied Piper will be presented on Saturday, Aug. 11, at the Prairie Avenue Community Church. The Missoula Children’s Theatre residency in Hayden is sponsored by the Hayden Arts Commission with support from local residents and companies. For information, call Marie Halladay at 208-209-1082.
