USA Explosion finishes 3-0 in pool play

HUNTINGTON BEACH, Calif. — The USA Explosion 18 Gold beat SoCal 3D 5-3 and the New Mexico Sundancers 4-3 on Sunday to finish 3-0 in pool play at the Premier Girls Fastpitch National Championship at the Fountain Valley Sports Complex.

Lexi Jo Johnson (Freeman High) went 2 for 3 with an RBI and two runs scored against SoCal for the Explosion, which boasts players from North Idaho, Montana and Washington. Haley Loffer, a recent Lake City High grad headed to College of Idaho, scored three runs.

Against New Mexico, Emma Gray (Lake City) hit a two-run homer and Loffer scored three more runs for the Explosion.

The Explosion opens 64-team double-elimination bracket play today vs. the Florida Impact.
