New York-style menu featured at NYC Piano Bar

| July 22, 2018 1:13 AM

Music, food and beverages in a unique setting are the combined attractions at the NYC Piano Bar that opened last weekend at 315 E. Sherman Ave.

A person playing a small piano just inside the sidewalk door lures you to the place. Then you look downstairs to a large room (4,000 square feet) with two very grand pianos, a dancing floor and tables to seat 125 people. The place formerly was Jimmy D’s Wine Cellar.

Popular music of all genres accompanies a large array of beverages and a New York-style menu with pizza, calzones, specialty dishes, entrees and even hot dogs and pretzels. Seating is at tables, the bar and the lounge.

“It’s a show at a comfortable level,” said Daniel Schnatter, owner with his wife, Nika. He’s originally from New York and has performed “everywhere.” She is from Canada.

Hours are 11 a.m. to closing at midnight or 2 a.m. An elevator is available. The place can be used for presentations and gatherings. Phone 208-930-1504. Check www.thenycpianobar.com.
