Kootenai Recovery Center to host pancake breakfast fundraiser Saturday
COEUR d’ALENE — The Kootenai Recovery Center is celebrating its second year with a new location and a pancake feast.
The nonprofit recovery center was established to provide resources and support for individuals with substance use and mental health disorders. In the last year, the center reported 7,766 visits with an average of 30 visits each day. About 20 volunteers give their time to help others in the center each month. In 2017, those volunteers logged nearly 3,000 hours.
Kootenai Recovery Center has provided more than 4,100 services, resources and referrals to the community, including treatment, housing, crisis intervention, re-entry services and computer access to assist with resumes and job searches. The center provides a safe, sober and non-judgmental environment for individuals to work on their recovery.
The center moved to 405 N. Second St. in Coeur d’Alene in early July to bring a recovery presence to downtown. It is open 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday. All services are free to the community.
A grand reopening and $5 all-you-can-eat pancake breakfast fundraiser will be held at the new location Saturday from 8 a.m. to noon.
