RATHDRUM — Jaret Taylor, Dustin Smith, Brandon Gay and Braden Gifford led the way offensively for the Mountaineers vs. the River Valley Rivals of Kennewick, Wash., at the Panhandle Blazer 18U tournament at Gorton Field.

Taylor went 3 for 4 and scored twice, Smith was 3 for 4 with two RBIs and three runs scored, Gay went 2 for 3 with two RBIs and two runs, and Gifford was 2 for 3 and drove in three runs.

Jack McDonald struck out six in a five-inning three-hitter for Northern Lakes (16-6-1), which is scheduled to play the Everett Sawmillers today at 8:30 a.m. and the Calgary Redbirds at 4 p.m., both at Gorton Field.
