POLITICS: So how's your marriage?
I often wish people would instill the same passion, zeal and fervor that they have in their political ideology into perhaps their disengaged marriages, hollow work ethics and lifeless day to day human interactions.
I wish both sides could gain the same passionate love affair they often have with politics in learning more about their loved ones, understanding their spouse’s mind and growing daily themselves, but instead freely languish while with feigned confidence believing they are growing.
Engaging in political hot issues in a balanced fashion that touches the many nuances of the topic is indeed admirable, but reflecting that in your personal family and life in the same fashion is even more admirable. When we lose ourselves in debates of world affairs, we should step back and make sure we instill equal vitality in the other areas of our lives. We will all be better for it. People will not know you by your politics, but by the actions you exact daily.
Whatever your political ideology is, know it starts with you first, then your community and region. Doing so will speak with far more resonance than a mouth spewing empty opinions while remaining quiet in the areas of life they should speak life into.
