Coeur d’Alene Summer Theater’s second main stage production of 2018, “Guys and Dolls,” features the unlikeliest of Manhattan pairings.

Brandon Michael plays Sky Masterson, a high-rolling gambler. The puritanical missionary, Sarah Brown, is played by Megan Renae Parker. Sarah Dahman performs the role of Miss Adelaide, a showgirl dreaming of the straight-and-narrow and Nathan Detroit, a crap game manager who is anything but, played by Casey Raiha.

This 1950 Tony Award-winner for Best Musical is based on short stories by American author Damon Runyon and features such classics as “Luck Be a Lady,” “A Bushel and a Peck,” and “Sit Down You’re Rockin’ the Boat.”

“Guys and Dolls” takes audiences from the bustle of Times Square to the dance clubs of Havana to the sewers of New York City, demonstrating the great lengths to which a guy will go when he truly falls in love with a “doll.”

Directed by Jadd Davis, Coeur d’Alene Summer Theatre’s artistic director, “Guys and Dolls” is filled with high-energy production numbers and vocals.
