TRUMP: Resistance is futile
My wife, granddaughters and I went out to breakfast Monday morning at a local restaurant and a car next to ours had a bumper sticker that read, “Resist Trump.” I thought what a great idea. After all, what has he done for America and the American people?
One of the first things that come to mind is a tax cut for corporations and the middle class. In anticipation of future tax savings many corporations gave thousands of dollars to millions of employees. Many others have doubled the minimum wage. One corporation is offering $5,000 cash to any employee who wishes to adopt a child. As Pelosi said, “This is just crumbs.” As a faithful Democrat, I have to oppose such tax cuts. They can only do us harm; besides we should be happy to pay more.
All one can surmise is “fake news” when it comes to the unemployment rate for Blacks and Latinos being the lowest in recorded history. If it is true, surely Trump or his ideas had no hand in it.
President Obama drew a red line in the sand threatening al-Assad if he ever used gas to poison his people. When al-Assad continued to use deadly gasses on his people, Obama rightfully did nothing. Then President Trump comes along and bombs military bases when al-Assad did it again. What right did Trump have for such action? After all, the Syrian people belong to al-Assad and he can do whatever he wishes to them.
Now he is meddling with North Korea demanding that they do away with nuclear weapons. What right does Trump have to tell any nation they can’t have ICBMs with atomic warheads? After all, any nation should have the ability for first strike ability.
Trump is also asking all NATO nations to start paying their share of expenses. This just isn’t right. Through the years, we have been paying more than our share so why change things now.
Trump wants to stop, what he calls dangerous illegal immigrants from entering the U.S. But as Pelosi stated just a couple of weeks ago, “Even MS13 members are good people at heart.”
The one thing no one expected was someone running for a political office and meaning to keep their promises after being elected.
The only hope we have is to “Resist Trump” at every turn before he “Makes America Great Again.”
