DEPLORABLES: Proving the point

I woke up early the morning of July 4 feeling pretty good...then I read the letters to the editor.

One writer sarcastically states that Trump followers are the “deplorables” and then spends the rest of his letter showing us exactly why they deserve that sobriquet.

Sure, he could fill a page with all of President Trump’s accomplishments — if the page were a 2-by-2 inch Post-It note.

Then he posits that if he were a liberal he would send Maxine Waters far away; but if he were a liberal he would, of course, be thinking more sanely than that.

Then he cleverly mentions former President Obama by his middle name... you know, because he just simply must be a Muslim. So, I guess now we ought to refer to Trump as “John Trump,” because what’s sauce for the goose, etc. Oh, and don’t forget about the “shadow government compound,” because, well, Faux News.

Then, by leaving me with the thought of President Trump on Mount Rushmore... well, it really left me with a taste of vomit in my mouth. Not a pleasant way to start my Independence Day.

Deplorables, indeed.
