Smith helps Northern Lakes to sweep of St. Maries

ST. MARIES — Dustin Smith drove in five runs as the Northern Lakes Mountaineers swept the St. Maries Savages 15-3 and 14-2 in class A North Idaho League baseball on Sunday.
Smith went 2 for 3 with two RBIs and two runs scored in the second game for Northern Lakes.
Brandon Filler was 3 for 3 with three RBIs and two runs scored in the opener, and Jack McDonald was 3 for 4 with two RBIs and two runs. Jaret Taylor went 2 for 3 with three runs and an RBI, and Louis Powell was 2 for 4 and knocked in two.
Colin Bell drove in four runs in the second game for the Mountaineers.
Northern Lakes is scheduled to play at Sandpoint on Tuesday at 7 p.m. at War Memorial Field.
